She never told her love,
But let concealment, like a worm in the bud
Feed on her damask cheek; she pined in thought;
And, with a green and yellow melancholy
She sat like patience on a monument,
Smiling at grief.
Love’s a capricious power; I’ve known it hold
Out through a fever caused by its own heat;
But be much puzzled by a cough or cold,
And find a quinsy very hard to treat.
Love is not altogether a delirium, yet it has many points in common therewith.
I call it rather a discerning of the infinite in the finite – of the ideal made real.
There is no such thing as perfect love. . .
The only thing you can do to make it somehow perfect
is to be SATISFIED.
Love is life’s end! An end, but never ending;
All joys, all sweets, all happiness, awarding;
Love is life’s wealth, ne’er spent, but ever spending
More rich by giving, taking by discarding;
Love’s life’s reward, rewarding in rewarding;
Then from thy wretched heart fond care remove;
Ah! Shouldst thou live but once love’s sweets to prove,
Thou wilt not love to live, unless thou live to love.
I learned to love someone with all my life
but there came a point that I got tired,
not of loving but sacrificing all that I have.
Then a thought came to my mind.
I have given everything but received nothing
but pain & tears in return.
Is this enough to prove that I really love that person?
Or is it a sign telling me to stop sacrificing
& learn to love myself a little more?
Never say that someone completes you.
We have to feel whole even when we are by ourselves
for needing a certain someone is not love but dependency.
Wanting a person to become a part of your life
is the best reason for having them.
You can only want when you know you have enough.
So rather than search for that someone who will complete you,
Wait for the person who will complement your completeness.
Though a mother gives birth to nine sons, all nine will be different.
If you do not support your mother while alive, it is no use to sacrifice to them when dead.
It is difficult for a mother to guarantee the virtues of her sons and daughters.

A mother is a mother still,
The holiest thing alive. Coleridge
